Two supports that keep a week running

Household help and worker-driven transport both come from Core Supports and are both delivered by Prevail Care across Perth under the Household Tasks and Assistance with Travel/Transport registration groups.

They are usually added to a roster that already includes personal care or community access, so you see the same faces and one provider covers the whole week instead of a cleaner, a driver and a support worker from three agencies.

What household tasks the NDIS funds

The NDIS funds household help you cannot do because of your disability, not help anyone would like to have. Within that, we cover:

  • General cleaning: kitchen, bathroom, floors, surfaces, bins
  • Laundry, ironing and changing beds
  • Meal planning, grocery shopping with you or for you, and bulk cooking
  • Basic yard tidying, lawns and rubbish
  • Support to do the tasks yourself where that is the goal, which moves the support into Improved Daily Living

We do not do commercial-grade or end-of-lease cleaning. If that is what is needed, we help you book a cleaner and claim it where the plan allows.

How NDIS transport support works

There are two kinds, and participants mix them up constantly.

1. Transport funding in your plan

A periodic payment to you for getting around: taxis, rideshare, your own costs. We do not touch it.

2. Activity-based transport

A support worker drives you as part of a shift. Their time is claimed at the normal support rate and the kilometres at the NDIS rate, plus tolls and parking, all agreed in your service agreement first.

Typical trips: medical and allied health appointments, court, Centrelink and legal appointments, work and TAFE, shopping, visiting family, the gym. Workers can also travel with you on public transport and teach the route so you can do it alone later.

Where we deliver this

Pick-up and drop-off anywhere in the metro area. Longer trips, for example to Bunbury for a specialist, by arrangement.

North: Joondalup, Wanneroo, Clarkson, Butler, Alkimos, Yanchep, Ellenbrook, Stirling, Morley. Central and west: Perth, Subiaco, Leederville, Nedlands, Fremantle, Cockburn, Melville, Victoria Park.
